We are in increasingly turbulent times for the sex industry in all its forms; across London, the UK and the world. Club closures, city-wide gentrification, online censorship & discriminatory laws all put sex workers in continued and increasing danger. On 22nd September 2018, Rich Mix hosted sex workers and their allies, friends and families for an afternoon of workshops, talks and discussions to examine the problems this community faces and what can be done to help.
This community symposium aimed to…
- Unite and empower strippers and sex workers to organise and take action to fight for improved working conditions in their industries
- Challenge the stigma & damaging stereotypes associated with sex work, which ultimately lead to dehumanisation and violence
- Invite both sex workers & allies to get involved in anti-stigma activism
