DIY History workshop – SM Dykes London
Offered as a workshop within the SM Dykes regular calendar. This event included an introduction to the project, with a particular focus on history gathering within the SM Dyke community and how stigma affects the lives of those who are part of the community, and what methods and tools we can use to document our own at-risk histories. There were discussions in our workshops on who might be documented, and how it feels to experience stigma due to a lack of understanding. Very lively debates took place, especially in terms of access to health care, and the lack of documentation of working class WLTI (women, lesbian, trans, intersex) people in the broader making of history.
